A parking observation describes a particular situation: a vehicle, a space and what was seen. Understanding the wider site may also require its signs and layout. Security Parking now allows an authorised rights holder with a registered account to provide up to two context photos associated with that account.
Two complementary layers of documentation
Each case can contain several photographs specific to the observation. Context images serve a different purpose: explaining the site generally. They are automatically added to the documentation of each observation under the account. They therefore do not replace photographs of the particular situation seen on a given date.
This distinction avoids asking a general image to prove something it does not show. A plan can locate an area, but does not by itself show which vehicle was there at the relevant time. A sign photograph explains an instruction without automatically establishing the entire duration of a vehicle's presence.
Select two images offering different information
A useful combination is a readable view of the signs and a simple plan showing spaces or entrances. If another combination better explains your account, provide those two relevant documents to Security Parking. Avoid nearly identical views or collages that make the wording too small to read.
Check that the information really concerns the locations documented by the account. Include necessary details rather than identifiable bystanders or unrelated number plates. The FDPIC's photography guidance explains that images of people can involve data protection. It does not approve a particular case or image selection.
Keep the context current
A new sign, changed numbering or relocated entrance can make an old image misleading. Report those changes so the supplied photos can be updated. When providing a replacement, identify the location and condition it represents, making its general purpose clear.
Do not assume that replacing an image retrospectively changes every document already issued. How existing documentation is handled needs to be checked for the case concerned.
