A public Reddit discussion describes vehicles occupying charging spaces without charging. The accounts and comments are unverified and do not establish that a particular offence occurred. None of the locations mentioned is presented as a Security Parking customer.
Separate observation from assumption
An arriving driver may see an occupied space and no apparently connected cable. They may not know the station's status, the parking conditions or whether equipment has failed. A useful report therefore describes observations instead of attributing intentions to another driver.
We recommend giving the station identifier, area and observation time through the operator's contact channel. Do not publish another person's number plate to invite public judgment. Do not move cables or someone else's equipment as a way of expressing frustration.
Offer a response the site can deliver
The car park owner and charging operator may be different organisations. They should decide who receives reports, who checks the situation and who can take action. A generic address without assigned follow-up can leave the visitor without useful assistance.
Signs should explain the intended use: active charging, any maximum stay, hours and contact. They should not promise immediate intervention or automatic consequences that have not been organised and assessed for the site. Staff need to know the same instructions displayed to arriving drivers.
Rehearse a practical situation
Before opening the area, simulate an arrival when every station is occupied. Can the user identify the rules without searching several applications? Can staff distinguish a faulty charger from a space that is simply occupied? Is it clear what can be reported outside normal operating hours?
Prepare a practical, courteous answer with a defined escalation route. Record the responsible role and the limits of what it can do. This work can reduce misunderstandings; it cannot guarantee an immediately available space or a particular legal outcome.
